Unbeaten at home against Wolves

FC Bayern host VfL Wolfsburg for the 22nd time in a Bundesliga meeting on Saturday afternoon – and that has traditionally spelt success for the Munich club. From the 21 previous encounters in the Bavarian capital, FCB have never lost and claimed 19 victories. No club has contested so many home Bundesliga matches against a single opponent without ever tasting defeat. fcbayern.com has that and a number of other interesting facts and figures to warm you up for Saturday’s mouth-watering clash.

Wolf slayers

Bayern have won 33 of the 43 Bundesliga meetings to date, suffering just four defeats and sharing the points on six occasions. In that time the record champions have scored 103 goals and conceded just 37. Both stats make unpleasant reading for Wolfsburg, who have lost more games and let in more goals against FCB than against any other Bundesliga team.

Two of Germany’s form sides

Bayern are currently the Bundesliga’s form team with 33 points from a possible 36 across the last 12 matches. This weekend’s guests at the Allianz Arena, however, are also on a good run of late with 24 points over the same period (same as Borussia Dortmund). Besides FCB, only Bayer Leverkusen have a better return over the most recent 12 games (25).

FCB’s home form returning

Home is where the heart is, and that’s how Niko Kovac and his side have felt over the last five league matches at the Allianz Arena. Five wins, 12 goals scored and just two conceded makes for a smiling Little Red Riding Hood, but the Big Bad Wolf is knocking at the door. Bruno Labbadia’s side have picked up 23 points on the road this season, which is the second most in the league after Bayern’s haul of 30.

Labbadia’s poor run

Wolfsburg boss Labbadia has unfinished business with Bayern. He’s lost his last 14 competitive meetings with the record champions as a coach in charge of VfB Stuttgart, Hamburger SV and now the Wolves – it’s a record in professional German football. The 53-year-old’s last win over FCB came on 26 September 2009 when his HSV side beat Bayern 1-0 at home. At the complete other end of the spectrum, Javi Martinez boasts a flawless record against Wolfsburg with 10 wins from 10 meetings.
