There is some extra special motivation in the FCB camp for the big game on Saturday. At the end of Thursday’s training session, the entire FC Bayern workforce gathered in front of the performance center at the Säbener Straße to say goodbye to Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben and Rafinha. It was the final pre-match training session with the club for the trio, as the cup final on Saturday marks the end of their respective FC Bayern careers.
The three Munich veterans needed no extra push, as was clear before the workout. When Arjen Robben walked onto the pitch he clenched his fist, as if to say one last time, "Come on! Let’s do it." During the session, the Dutchman and all his colleagues worked at high speed and with great concentration.
Goretzka missing in Berlin
Bayern are playing for the double against Leipzig - and they absolutely want it. Ribéry spurred his colleagues on time and again in the session. "Again, again," he called and didn’t want to stop. This is the attitude Bayern need on Saturday in Berlin to reach thei big goal. The team got on the bus to the airport later in the day as prepared as possible - with Rafinha, Robben, Ribéry and almost the entire senior squad. Unfortunately, Leon Goretzka is out of the cup final because of muscular discomfort. Joshua Kimmich will not travel until Friday for family reasons.
