Five Bayern players named in Germany squad

Five FC Bayern players have been named in the Germany squad for June’s Euro 2020 qualifiers. Joshua Kimmich, Niklas Süle, Leon Goretzka and Serge Gnabry are joined by Manuel Neuer in Joachim Löw’s 22-man selection for the matches in Belarus (in Borisov on 8 June at 20:45 CEST) and against Estonia (in Mainz on 11 June at 20:45 CEST). The call-up for the Germany captain is currently tentative as the 33-year-old waits to see how his calf injury heals.

All five players were named in Löw’s starting XI for the 3-2 win in the Netherlands that got qualification underway in March. The current squad will gather for a training camp on 2 June ahead of the upcoming two matches.

Coman set for France comeback

After over a year and a half without a game for France, Kingsley Coman is on the verge of his international return. Didier Deschamps has called up the winger for the world champions’ friendly against Bolivia in Nantes on 2 June (21:00 CEST), as well as the Euro qualifiers against Turkey in Konya on 8 June (20:45 CEST) in Andorra on 11 June (20:45 CEST). Coman was previously included in March’s squad but did not feature. The 22-year-old’s last appearance for Les Bleus was on 10 November 2017 against Wales.

James in preliminary Colombia squad

James Rodriguez has been named in Colombia’s preliminary 40-man squad for the 2019 Copa America. Coach Carlos Queiroz will name his final squad on 30 May. The South American competition will be held in Brazil from 14 June to 7 July. Prior to the tournament, Colombia will play a friendly against Panama (4 June at 0:00 CEST) and in Peru (9 June at 23:00 CEST).
