Niko Kovač had mixed news two days before FC Bayern's match away to SC Paderborn. The positive tidings concerned David Alaba, who has resumed the squad programme. "That means it's looking good, but we must see how it works out tomorrow," the Bayern head coach commented.
On a less positive note, Kovač will be without Fiete Arp, who fractured his wrist in training: "We'll have to wait for the medical unit to predict when he'll be able to complete the full programme again." Leon Goretzka too will miss Saturday's match. "He still needs some time, I think he'll only be fully available after the next international break."
Kovač refused to underestimate the bottom club: "All our opponents give it at least 100 per cent against us, so we too must put in 100 per cent, otherwise it'll be difficult." Paderborn are "compact, they want to play positive football, and they have very quick players at turnovers." Bayern must not think of Tuesday's Champions League clash with Tottenham but focus on the upcoming task: "It's the here and now that counts." However, the players are "well-prepared, and I'm confident we'll take the hurdle, albeit not an easy one. We respect all our opponents but of course we're going to Paderborn to win."
