FC Bayern have recovered well from the cup clash at Bochum. "Everybody's in good shape," declared Niko Kovač at the press conference at Säbener Straße ahead of the away game in Frankfurt. The coach has the same players available for the Frankfurt match as he did for the cup tie on Tuesday.
The squad for the cup clash in the Ruhr Valley was:
Starting XI: Neuer – Kimmich, Pavard, Boateng, Davies – Thiago – Coman, Tolisso, Goretzka, Perisic - Gnabry
Second-half subs: Lewandowski, Coutinho, Müller
Unused subs: Ulreich, Cuisance, Dajaku, Alaba, Mai
There may be an additional option. "Javi (Martínez, Ed.) trained today and he could come into the squad," said Kovač. Martínez had to go off at half-time in Piraeus due to a muscular problem and he has been sidelined for the last two games. Whether or not he makes the trip to Frankfurt will be decided after the final pre-match training session on Friday. Fiete Arp is definitely ruled out again but the 19-year-old did take a step in the right direction to making his comeback with an individual training session on Thursday.
