FC Bayern follow up their 2-0 win over Olympiacos in the Champions League with Saturday’s Bundesliga cracker against Borussia Dortmund. For that reason coach Hansi Flick had his squad in again for training on Thursday. Even the players who had featured for the full 90 minutes the previous night were involved.

“On Saturday we’ve got a game that the whole of Germany is looking forward to. We can lay down another marker with that,” the coach said. In order to do that, Flick had his players focus in particular on tactical aspects behind closed curtains. At the end of that, the players who didn’t feature yesterday continued working with the ball.

The record champions are aware of the scale of Saturday’s challenge. “We always know what’s at stake in these games. It’s a meeting of equals, regardless of where we stand in the Bundesliga table and who’s ahead. It’s Der Klassiker,” said captain Manuel Neuer.
