Leon Dajaku scores the FC Bayern October Goal of the Month

This goal will have reminded many people of the legendary effort from Klaus Augenthaler in 1989. 30 years after the former Bayern libero beat Frankfurt keeper Uli Stein with a shot from 50 yards out, Leon Dajaku of the FCB reserves plucked up the courage in a third division game against Eintracht Braunschweig. The 18-year-old striker hit the ball from his own half into the opposition net with a memorable effort to make it 2-0.

It also pleased the fans of the German record champions who selected the strike as the Goal of the Month in October. The Bayern reserves striker picked up 36% of the votes. In second and third place were Corentin Tolisso (30%) and Carolin Simon (20%). Congratulations, Leon Dajaku!

Dajaku twice in first team squad

The FC Bayern first team are also aware of Dajaku's talents. The Germany youth international was in the first team squad for the DFB Cup game at Bochum at the end of October and for the Bundesliga match at Frankfurt at the beginning of November. During the international break, the goal-getter is an action for the Germany U19s.

The blueprint for Dajaku: In the first round of the DFB Cup in 1989/90, Klaus Augenthaler scored the winner in the 1-0 victory against Eintracht Frankfurt from 50 yards out. The brilliant strike was later named 'Goal of the Decade'.
