FC Bayern will be without Leon Goretzka for their next Bundesliga match at Freiburg on Wednesday evening. The midfielder is nursing a muscular problem and "is definitely out," as coach Hansi Flick revealed in Monday's press conference. There's also still a question mark over Corentin Tolisso, who missed the weekend win over Werder Bremen because of a muscle injury. "We need to wait and see on that," said Flick.
On the positive side, Javi Martínez is available again for the clash between sixth and fifth in the table. The versatile defender returns to the squad following a one-match suspension. "The squad isn't as full as we'd like it to be," explained Flick. "We have two games left and we have to make sure that the players who we do have stay fit and that maybe one or two come back." As was the case against Bremen, the squad will be supplemented by reserve players.
In total, the Bayern boss will be without six players. In addition to Goretzka, Niklas Süle, Lucas Hernández, Michaël Cuisance, Kingsley Coman and Fiete Arp remain sidelined, although the latter took part in full training on Monday for the first time since his hand injury.
