Serge Gnabry will not resume team training in Doha due to his Achilles tendon problem. The 24-year-old winger has only been able to do running exercises so far. After the training session on Wednesday morning, coach Hansi Flick did not rule out that Gnabry would return to Munich early.

Kingsley Coman will return to action later than expected. The France international, who sustained a capsule tear in his left knee in December, will miss the Bundesliga reopener away to Hertha Berlin on 19 January and the match against FC Schalke on 25 January, according to Flick. Coman's shin will be removed on Wednesday.

Robert Lewandowski and Lucas Hernández are making progress. Lewandowski is working towards his comeback in Munich and will probably be fit for the match against Hertha, according to Flick. Hernández is increasing his workload in Doha, but the reopener will come too early for the Frenchman.
