FC Bayern kick off the second half of the season with an away game at Hertha Berlin on Sunday afternoon (15.30 CET). 1. Second clash at restart
The first fixture between FCB and Hertha on matchday 18 was in the 2000/01 campaign. The first match in the second half of the season back then was before the winter break with the record champions winning thanks to goals from Roque Santa Cruz, Stefan Effenberg and Alexander Zickler in a 3-1 victory in the capital.
2. Impressive in opening fixture
In recent years, FC Bayern have almost always started well after the winter break winning six of the last seven league games at the start of the new calendar year (the only defeat was a 4-1 reverse at VfL Wolfsburg in 2014/15). Last year FCB started with a 3-1 win at Hoffenheim at the start of a successful chase to catch up Borussia Dortmund.
3. Outstanding record against Hertha
Sunday brings the 70th meeting of the two teams in the top flight. The record is clearly in favour of FC Bayern with 39 wins, 20 draws and just ten defeats and a goal difference for the Reds of 155 for and 75 against.
4. Good run
FC Bayern have only lost one of the last 17 Bundesliga games against Hertha Berlin (12 wins, four draws): That was a 2-0 defeat in Berlin in September 2018.

7. Biggest win
FC Bayern clocked up a 6-0 victory in Berlin in March 2012 and thereby celebrated the biggest of the previous 39 wins in the league against the team from the capital. The goalscorers: Arjen Robben with three penalties, Thomas Müller, Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez.
8. Biggest defeat
FC Bayern have only lost ten times in the 69 Bundesliga games against Hertha. The biggest defeat was a 4-1 reverse in 1974/75 at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin where the current chairman of the board Karl-Heinz Rummenigge scored the only goal of the game for the Reds.
9. Latest strike
In the 1-1 draw on matchday 21 in 2016/17, Robert Lewandowski scored the equaliser for FCB on 95 minutes and 59 seconds. That was the latest Bundesliga goal since records were first kept in 2004/05.
