'He’s back!' - Coman joins in with team training

Bayern were delighted to see Kingsley Coman in training on Thursday morning. The Frenchman joined his teammates on the pitch for the first time since suffering a capsule tear in his left knee in December. During the talk before the start of the session, Coman was welcomed back with applause from the squad in a sign of respect for his comeback after yet another setback.

Alaba: "He’s back!"

The winger completed the first half of the hour-and-a-half session, displaying his skills on the ball during a quick passing Rondo drill and then again in shooting practice. When the 23-year-old fired the ball past Manuel Neuer for the first time again with a low, flat shot, David Alaba showed his appreciation with a cry of "he's back!".

Flankenwechsel mit Joshua Kimmich: Coman ging am Donnerstag mit gewohnter Präzision zu Werke.

Injury problems easing

After 45 minutes, the attacker left the pitch and continued his work individually in the performance centre. The next step in Coman's comeback will give Hansi Flick hope of going into the crucial weeks ahead with a better personnel situation. Other than Niklas Süle, who is continuing his recovery from an ACL tear, all first-team players were on the pitch on Thursday, although Javi Martínez just did some running around the adjacent pitch following his thigh muscle problem.
