FC Bayern host TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in the last 16 of the DFB Cup at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night (kick-off at 8.45pm CET, coverage available via our live text commentary). Here are seven interesting facts and figures to make sure you're prepared for the knockout match against the men from Sinsheim.
1. First cup match against Hoffenheim
After 23 matches in the Bundesliga, the record champions will face Hoffenheim for the first time in the DFB Cup on Wednesday evening. With 15 wins, five draws and just three defeats, the Bundesliga record is truly on Munich's side.
2. Last 16 record extended
Bayern have reached the last sixteen of the DFB Cup for the 19th year in a row, thus extending their own competition record of last-16 appearances. The last 12 times they've gone at least one step further and reached the quarter-finals. The last time Bayern failed to reach the last eight was in the 2006/07 season after a last-16 defeat to Alemannia Aachen.
3. Bayern's strength against fellow league opposition
Bayern have won five of the last six cup matches against Bundesliga clubs. The only defeat in this run was in the 2018 final against Eintracht Frankfurt (3-1).

4. Hoffenheim's problems against Bundesliga opponents
Opponents Hoffenheim, on the other hand, have been eliminated by Bundesliga opposition in each of their last five cup exits. This means that TSG have only made progress in the competition over the past six years when playing lower-league teams. TSG's last victory against a Bundesliga club was in December 2013, when they won 3-1 against Schalke.
5. No team has won twice at Bayern in a season
The last match against the men from Sinsheim was rather recent, and it did not end happily from a Bayern perspective. On 5 October 2019, TSG won 2-1 at the Allianz Arena; their first victory there in twelve attempts after nine Bayern wins and two draws. Since Bayern's rise to the Bundesliga in 1965, no team has ever beaten Bayern twice in Munich in a single season.
6. TSG the away specialists
For Hoffenheim, Wednesday evening's match is their 12th consecutive away game in the DFB Cup. The club's last home game was in October 2014 (a 5-1 win against FSV Frankfurt).
7. First last-16 match in five years for TSG
It's the first time since the 2014/15 season that Hoffenheim have reached the last 16 of the cup. Every one of the eight times that Hoffenheim have reached this stage, they've been able to progress to the quarter-finals. However, they've never once managed to get past the quarter-final stage.
