Full concentration but still lots of fun - the FC Bayern training session on Monday reflected the tense anticipation for the week ahead. Coach Hansi Flick focussed on running, passing and finishing drills during the session at the Säbener Straße. The starting eleven from the Mainz game finished the session slightly early in the pouring rain. Before returning to the training centre the players made use of a puddle on the pitch for some good natured fun towards newly crowned Polish footballer of the year Robert Lewandowski.

Hoffenheim and Leipzig lie ahead
The record champions are also on a slick run of form on the pitch. After their third win in three in 2020 (3-1 at Mainz), Bayern climbed back into first place in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Immediately afterwards the focus moved onto the challenges to come. In just four days FCB will face Hoffenheim in the next round of the DFB Cup and then RB Leipzig in a top of the table clash. Both matches will be at the Allianz Arena.
"We didn't win the last home game against Hoffenheim. We really want to progress to the next round," said captain Manuel Neuer about the last 16 game on Monday (20:45) against Hoffenheim. David Alaba wants to use the momentum from sucess in recent weeks: "We're on a roll and we've won our games. This gives us lots of self-belief to take into the next week."
FC Bayern are leading the Bundesliga again and that's where the record champions want to stay!
