Esports: Friendly with Juventus today

The current situation regarding the coronavirus isn’t helping the FC Bayern football teams, including the club’s esports team with their league suspended. To keep their fingers nimble, Matthias Luttenberger’s team will contest a friendly match against league rivals Juventus on Thursday at 5pm CET. The 3v3 Co-op game will be streamed online with all players at home.

Stream from 5pm

You can follow the contest from 5pm on the FC Bayern Twitch channel (in German). A commentator and esports coach Luttenberger will discuss the current situation in a virtual studio before covering the tie, which consists of two legs. You can pose your questions directly to the esports team in the live chat and they’ll be answered in the live broadcast.

League success

Bayern’s Spanish esports trio of Alejandro Alguacil Segura (22), Miguel Mestre Oltra (20) and Jose Carlos Sanchez Guillen (27) are hoping to maintain their league rhythm with today’s friendly. They have been competing together in the KONAMI eFootball.Pro League since December 2019. The league consists of 10 teams battling for the virtual title on eFootball PES 2020. The campaign has gone very well so far for the Munich club with 20 points from 10 games, placing them second in the table and on course for a semi-final spot.

Close rivals

Bayern are just a point off leaders Monaco, while today’s opponents Juventus are three behind FCB in third. The meeting on Matchday 5 went very well from the Reds’ perspective, winning the first game 2-0 before a 1-1 draw in the second fixture with the Italians.
