It's game one after winning an eighth straight championship, and following FC Bayern’s impressive defence of their Bundesliga title, Hansi Flick's team can now set their goals for the remaining two games of the campaign. fcbayern.com has put together the most important stats on the last home game against Sport Club Freiburg and shows which records could still be broken by the record champions this season.
1. Bayern want the record for the most straight wins
It's an absolutely incredible run: FC Bayern have just completed 14 straight wins in competitive matches, equalling the club record for a German professional football team. No other Bundesliga team has notched up more consecutive wins in competitive matches since the founding of the Bundesliga in 1963/64.
2. Flick team's (almost) perfect second half of the season
Since the winter break, FC Bayern have bagged 43 out of a possible 45 points, meaning they're still on course to set records. Only the Reds themselves have done as well in the Bundesliga's history - in 2012/13, under Jupp Heynckes, they finished the second half of the season with 16 wins and a draw.
3. Freiburg still without a win in Munich
The German record champions haven't lost any of their 19 Bundesliga home games against Freiburg (16 wins, three draws). Among the current Bundesliga teams, only Hertha Berlin (25) and Wolfsburg (23) have lost more times in Munich without ever winning.
4. Lewandowski on course for next record
Robert Lewandowski is only the second non-German player in the history of the Bundesliga to notch up 31 goals - a tally only previously achieved by Dortmund's Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the 2016/17 season. But the Poland international still has two more league games to beat that total.
5. Thomas Müller set for milestone
An appearance against SC Freiburg will see Bayern veteran Thomas Müller playing his 350th game in the Bundesliga. So far, the 30-year-old has been directly involved in 232 goals in 349 appearances in Germany's top tier.
6. History speaks for Bayern goals
Should the game follow the pattern of previous encounters, goals from the Munich team are guaranteed in the meeting with the men from the Breisgau region. FC Bayern have not only scored in all their 14 competitive matches since mid-February, but also in the last 13 clashes with SC Freiburg. In addition, the Reds' Bavarian rivals, for their part, haven't managed to keep a clean sheet in their last 14 Bundesliga outings.
