The pitch at Säbener Straße was a hive of activity on Friday with training in small groups. Coach Hansi Flick was able to welcome 27 outfield players plus four goalkeepers. That included summer signings Leroy Sané, Tanguy Nianzou, Alexander Nübel and Adrian Fein. One thing quickly became clear: The quartet fit in brilliantly with the team. For example, Sané was deep in conversation with Robert Lewandowski as they came onto the pitch. The duo are looking to lead the Bayern attack together in the new season.
Great mood in spite of intensive drills
Everybody was in a great mood in spite of intensive running drills and practice moves. It's clear to see how keen Bayern are on football after their short break. Alphonso Davies and Benjamin Pavard regularly found the top corner in shooting practice. But the keepers also pulled off impressive saves again and again – with enthusiastic commentary from their teammates. The excitement and anticipation for the Champions League continues to grow.
