Bayern begin preparations for Champions League final

Time for the final lap! The dream of the treble is within touching distance for FC Bayern as they stand in the final of the Champions League for the first time since the 2013 triumph. However, there was no big party atmosphere in the FCB camp following Wednesday’s 3-0 semi-final win over Lyon. For Manuel Neuer and Co, it’s more about focussing on the next big goal. “We’re now looking forward to the final against PSG. We’ve fought and worked for it for so long and we want to win this final,” declared Bayern’s captain straight after the match against Lyon.

Cycling for starting XI

Preparations for Sunday’s final started already on Thursday morning, with the players who started against Lyon completing a recovery session on the exercise bikes at the team’s base in Lisbon. The anticipation for the big showdown at the Estádio da Luz against Neymar and Co was noticeable among the Munich boys. The rest of the squad, meanwhile, worked out on the pitch. Bayern don’t want to waste a minute as they look to prepare as best they can for the clash with PSG, as Joshua Kimmich made clear on Wednesday night: “Regenerate tomorrow and then we go again!”
