The countdown is on to Bayern’s Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona in Lisbon on Friday night (kick-off at 9pm CEST, coverage available with our live text commentary and free web radio). This year’s competition sees ties played over just one leg, meaning Hansi Flick’s side need to be up to speed from the very start, so the squad spent the morning warming up for the action.
Getting ready to go
At the usual warm-up session ahead of the game, Manuel Neuer and his teammates went through a number of stretching, stabilisation and coordination drills at the team hotel to make sure they’re ready to go. And, of course, there was no lack of fun, as the Bayern players enjoyed themselves showing off their technique with a round of football tennis.
Unbeaten at the Estadio da Luz
Come the evening, though, things will get serious as the Bavarians arrive at the Estadio da Luz for the showdown with the Catalans. Bayern have twice visited the home of Benfica before and are yet to lose.
