Gnabry stirs up Lyon and shoots Bayern into the Champions League final

Gnabry cooks up a storm for FC Bayern and shoots Olympique Lyon out of the Champions League almost single-handedly in a 3-0 victory for Bayern! Almost immediately after Toko Ekambi hit the post for the French side, Serge Gnabry slammed the ball into the top corner after a cross-field pass from Joshua Kimmich on the opposite side. The goal broke the deadlock, putting FC Bayern 1-0 up, adding the first ingredient for successful entry into the final of Europe's elite club competition.

Lyon keeper Anthony Lopes could do nothing about Gnabry's top corner scorcher.

FCB's chef de cuisine seemingly could only score on the Champions League stage in London, with Gnabry scoring his first six UCL goals in London, but he has now also delivered in Lisbon. The German national player scored to make it 3-1 in the 8-2 victory over Barcelona, scoring in the 27th minute.

The second ingredient

Man of the match after his brace: Serge Gnabry.

Gnabry added the next ingredient after the half-hour, initiating the move himself before mopping up after Lyon netminder Lopes had parried the ball. It was his ninth goal in his ninth Champions League match this term, integrating the components to send Munich into the final.

In the footsteps of Olic and Müller

Gnabry and Lewandowski fired Bayern into the final.

Gnabry is only the third Bayern player to score two or more goals in a Champions League semi-final. Thomas Müller achieved this feat in 2013 when he bagged a brace against Barcelona, whereas Ivica Olic scored a hat-trick against tonight's opponents Lyon in 2010.

Gnabry and Lewy decide the match

The winger almost applied the icing to the cake only six minutes later, but his cross evaded Robert Lewandowski. The Poland international rounded off the scoreline in the closing stages, adding Bayern's third.
