There’s good news for Alphonso Davies as he returned to the training pitch for the first time in a month after he tore ligaments in his right ankle. The Canadian completed his first relaxed running session on Monday before continuing his rehabilitation programme with various running and coordination drills on Tuesday morning.
The left-back had suffered the injury in Bayern’s 5-0 win at home to Eintracht Frankfurt on 24 October, going down unchallenged just moments after kick-off. Coach Hansi Flick had assumed Davies would be out for “six to eight weeks”. The 20-year-old will continue his individual programme in the coming days. There is still no date set for his return to team training.
