FC Bayern ahead of Mainz clash

A year of superlatives is coming to an end at FC Bayern. The team coached by Hansi Flick secured 42 wins in 48 games and only one match was lost in the whole of 2020. Five domestic and European titles plus numerous awards for players and coaches at the record champions are well-earned reward for the exceptional performances of the last 12 months.

Online training for starters

FC Bayern had positive experience of online training in the summer and ahead of the Bundesliga restart in May.

Following the 2-1 win in the top match against Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, Flick released his players for the short Christmas break. "Now we've got a bit more than a week off," said the 55-year-old. The record champions return on 29 December for coronavirus tests and online training. Manuel Neuer & Co. will be back on the training ground the day after as the crowded fixture list in the current season brings the Bundesliga home game against FSV Mainz 05 on 3 January (18.00 CET). "We'll carry on working hard," promised Thomas Müller ahead of the Christmas break.
