There was a special surprise waiting for Robert Lewandowski shortly after he named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2020, as former striker Thierry Henry invited the newly crowned best player in the world to a video interview. “It’s fully deserved. Every trophy had to go to you this year. You were brilliant,” Henry said in praise of the Polish goal machine.
Lewandowski seemed delighted by the surprise call from his former idol. “When I was younger, I watched your style and your movement without the ball. I wanted to be like you, I wanted to score goals like you. You helped me a lot, so I’d like to thank you for that,” the 32-year-old said.
