6 facts on a six-goal thriller between Bayern and Bielefeld

What an up and down game for FC Bayern at home to Bielefeld! The Munich team hung on in there after going two goals down and earned themselves a 3-3 draw. In doing so, FCB underscored their status as a record-setting attacking team and helped Bayern achieve a curious Bundesliga record. Read that plus other interesting facts about the six-goal thriller here:

1. Lewandowski underscores world player title

Lewandowski scored against Bielefeld to halve the deficit to 2-1 at the time.

Bayern scored three times against Bielefeld and, of course, Robert Lewandowski's name was one of those on the scoresheet. It was the world footballer of the year's 25th goal of the season already. In total, Lewandowski has already scored 30 goals in all competitions - no other player from Europe's top 5 leagues has netted as many times this season.

2. Is Lewandowski outperforming Der Bomber?

Never before has a player in Bundesliga history scored as many goals after 21 games as Lewandowski so far this season. In his record-topping 40-goal season in 1971/72, Gerd Müller had 23 goals after 21 matchdays.

3. Tolisso and Davies extend FCB scoring streak

After scoring a goal in both the Champions League and the DFL Supercup, Corentin Tolisso was finally able to celebrate a league goal.

With Corentin Tolisso and Alphonso Davies, two new FCB players entered this season's list of Bayern goalscorers in the Bundesliga, with goals against Bielefeld. This means that a total of 14 different Munich players have scored in the league so far this season.

4. FCB with record attack

These 14 players ensured that FCB's attack equalled yet another record. Only Hamburger SV (in 1981/82) scored as many as 61 goals after 21 league games.

5. Davies loves the Allianz Arena

Davies scored to make it 3-3, his fifth goal in an FCB shirt. He's scored all of them in the Bundesliga and all at the Allianz Arena.

6. Bundesliga draw record

Bayern's 3-3 draw against Bielefeld was the 7th draw on Matchday 21 in 2020/21. There have never been more on one matchday in the Bundesliga. On MD20 of the 1998/99 season, there were also 7 draws across the 9 games.
