FC Bayern Esports miss opportunity against Roma

The FC Bayern esports team are cursing their luck after Matchday 4 of the KONAMI eFootball.Pro League. They won 1-0 in the first game but suffered a 4-1 defeat in the second, thus missing the chance to overtake their opponents in the table. “We didn’t bring our performance in training into the match. It’s not coming off us at the moment and then unfortunately we’re playing badly,” bemoaned coach Matthias Luttenberger.

“We won the first game with courage and urgency, but the second then completely passed us by,” added the Austrian. His team now occupy eighth place with nine points, two shy of sixth place which is required to qualify for the play-offs. “We now have a four-week break and we must use this to gather ourselves, so that we can show what we’re really capable of in matches again,” said Luttenberger.

Next up: Arsenal

The coach has already started with his analysis of what went wrong. “We’re lacking confidence and we have a mental block as soon as the matchday begins. Perhaps we now need to build from a solid defence and move towards a more pragmatic style of play.” Bayern are next in league action on 13 March when they take on Arsenal, who sit third on 13 points. “We need points there, otherwise it’s going to be difficult to finish in the top six,” stated Luttenberger.
