FC Bayern land in Doha after long journey

The journey was difficult due to a denied clearance for takeoff, but on Saturday at 16:10 local time (14:10 CET), FC Bayern landed safely in Doha and will now begin their final preparations for the FIFA Club World Cup. On 8 February (19:00 CET), the Champions League winners will face Al Ahly SC from Cairo, current holders of the African Champions League, in the semi-final.

Further information about the delayed start:

Immediately after landing, the Bavarians took a coronavirus test at the airport. Manuel Neuer & Co. then travelled to the team hotel, where they are only allowed to leave their rooms if the test results come back negative. In order to minimise the risk of infection, the men from Munich will live in a "bubble" in Doha and only commute between the hotel, training ground and venues.

After the strenuous journey, Hansi Flick will be on the training ground with his team for the first time on Sunday.
