Bayern pick up another win

The Bavarians scored four goals in Rome on Tuesday evening.

Munich have now gone unbeaten in 18 straight Champions League matches, winning 17 of them (the exception being a 1-1 draw away to Atlético). Hansi Flick’s men can equal the club record of 19 consecutive matches without defeat (from 2001 to 2002) in the return leg.

Strong away from home

Bayern have now gone unbeaten in 17 Champions League matches on the road (13 wins, four draws), extending their record. Added to this, the German record champions are unbeaten in six Champions League matches in Italy, winning four and drawing two.

Winner Kimmich


The win in Rome was the 38th win in Joshua Kimmich's 50th Champions League appearance, a new record for the most wins in a player's first 50 appearances, previously held by Thomas Müller and Casemiro (36 wins each). It was also the 15th consecutive game he had won in the UCL.

Knockout stage record

The 4-1 victory means the Munich team scored at least four times in a UCL knockout round match for the 14th time - more often than any other club in the history of the competition. FC Barcelona are the second most prolific in this sense, having done so 11 times.

Best attack in the Champions League

With 22 goals, FC Bayern also have the best attacking record of all the teams this season. FCB have also scored 23 goals in six knockout-round matches under Hansi Flick so far.

Musiala makes it a dozen

His goal to make it 2-0 means Jamal Musiala is now Bayern's 12th different goalscorer of this Champions League campaign.

Sané with strong numbers

Leroy Sané's goal to make it 3-0 means he has now been involved in ten goals in his past ten Champions League games (seven goals, three assists).

Lucas Hernández played his 50th game in a Bayern shirt in Rome.
