FC Bayern stands for tolerance and diversity

FC Bayern Munich is once again making it clear on International Day against Homophobia that the club stands for tolerant coexistence and that there is no place in its world view for exclusion, discrimination, hatred and violence of any kind.

“We are pleased that FC Bayern constantly shows its clear chance for tolerance and diversity, against racism and homophobia,” said Marcus Janke, chair of the fan club ‘Queerpass Bayern’. It is “a strong signal to the entire football world and beyond when a club with such global appeal positions itself on social issues. FC Bayern is making an important contribution to the removal of taboos.”

President Herbert Hainer: “FC Bayern has a clear stance on homosexuality, which is that nobody should have to hide because of their sexual orientation. Everyone finds a home at FC Bayern, a protective environment, and can be sure of the solidarity of our club. Tolerance and diversity are essential components of how FC Bayern sees itself.”

CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge: “FC Bayern stands as a cosmopolitan, tolerant club against discrimination and exclusion of any kind. We want and demand a tolerant approach in our society, in line with our basic understanding of diversity.”
