FC Bayern’s 2021/22 cup mission begins against Bremer SV. The draw was made on Sunday evening during ARD’s Sportschau, where former player turned pundit Thomas Broich pulled out the balls. The first-round ties will take place over the weekend of 6 to 9 August 2021, with the exact kick-off times to be confirmed in the coming days.
After winning the competition two years in a row, the record cup winners were knocked out by Holstein Kiel on penalties in the second round last year. The goal for the new cup campaign is clear: new coach Julian Nagelsmann and his team want to get back to Berlin! The final at the Olympiastadion is scheduled for 21 May 2022, and the first hurdle on that journey awaits Bayern in Bremen.
