Josip Stanišić extends contract until 2025

FC Bayern defender Josip Stanišić has agreed a two-year extension to his current contract, which was originally due to expire in 2023. The Munich-born 21-year-old, who has just made his senior international debut for Croatia, joined the German record champions’ youth academy in 2017 and has been part of the first-team squad since the beginning of this season, making nine appearances in all competitions.

Board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić: “We’re very pleased that we‘ve been able to integrate another talent from our FC Bayern Campus into the first team, and that Josip has established himself so quickly. He has worked his way up and is a great addition. Josip is a very reliable player who is strong in the tackle, assured on the ball and can also generate pressure going forward. He gives his all in every training session – and he should carry on doing so.”

Josip Stanišić: “I want to thank for the club for their faith in me. I will try to continue riding the wave of recent months – they have been phenomenal for me and I’ve enjoyed every second. My aims are very clear: I want to help the team as much as I can, so that my good performances can help us win as many titles as possible.”
