Surging unstoppably into the last 16: thanks to a deserved 5-2 victory over Benfica, Bayern have booked their ticket for the knockout phase of the Champions League after Matchday 4. In three weeks' time, the Munich team can also wrap up top spot in the group with a point in Kiev against Dynamo Kyiv. They owe this comfortable situation to an almost pitch-perfect group stage:
1. Last 16 season ticket holders
Bayern have reached the knockout stage of the Champions League for the 14th season in a row. Only Real Madrid (24) and Barcelona (17) have put together a longer consecutive streak.
2. Addicted to a dream start
For the third time in a row and for the sixth time overall, the German record champions have won their first four matches of a Champions League campaign. No other team has so often kicked-off a campaign with four from four.
3. Goals en masse
With 17 goals in their first four games, Bayern have equalled PSG's goal-scoring record from the 2017/18 campaign. They also extended their club record and have now scored at least one goal in 26 consecutive UCL matches.
4. 26 unbeaten
Bayern have not lost in the Champions League group stage in their last 26 matches: with 23 wins, and 3 draws - the last defeat came in September 2017, a reverse at home to PSG (3-0).
