Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Cameroon made the perfect start to their Africa Cup of Nations campaign. The host nation beat Burkina Faso 2-1 in the opening match of the continental competition on Sunday. The Bayern striker started on the bench but entered the fray in the 69th minute and helped his side to see out the important opening win.
Two penalties turn it around
After Gustavo Sangaré gave Burkina Faso a somewhat surprising lead following a corner (24'), two penalties shortly before half-time turned it around for the favourites. Vincent Aboubakar kept his cool from the spot both times to give the Indomitable Lions the advantage. Choupo-Moting and Co face Ethiopia in their second group match on Thursday.
