Servus, Choupo! As Bayern began a new week of training on Tuesday morning, head coach Julian Nagelsmann was able to welcome back a returnee. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting trained with his Munich teammates for the first time since his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations. The 32-year-old striker finished the continental competition in third place with host nation Cameroon.
Preparations for Bochum under way
After being given a friendly reception by his colleagues, Choupo-Moting and the rest of the squad went straight into preparations for the next Bundesliga match away to promoted side VfL Bochum. The session featured some match situation drills, where Nagelsmann could already incorporate some tactical refinement for the game on Saturday afternoon (15:30 CET). Bouna Sarr, Bayern's other Africa Cup of Nations participant, was still absent. The 30-year-old will return to training in the next few days after celebrating Senegal's first AFCON title.
