Sven Ulreich is back in goal for FC Bayern Munich. Due to the absence of Manuel Neuer, who underwent surgery on his right knee joint last Sunday, the 33-year-old will be between the posts this Saturday in the away match at VfL Bochum (kick-off 15:30 CET). You can find out how the keeper, who already had a short spell in goal this year in the 2-1 defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach at the beginning of January, feels ahead of the game in the video above. We've jotted down the best statements from the interview following Thursday's training session for you here:
Hello Sven, after the loss of Manuel Neuer: Are you ready to get back between the posts at FC Bayern?
Sven Ulreich: "You prepare for a possible appearance every week, so you‘re ready when the time comes. It's definitely a good thing I played a few weeks ago. I’m ready for the game."
How does your routine change when you know you're going to be in goal at the weekend?
"When you know you're going to be involved at the weekend, you focus differently on the game. You prepare for it differently, also with regard to the analysis – in particular with Toni Tapalović. It's definitely quite different to being on the bench. Of course, you always take part in the team meetings, but when you’re playing, you go into even more detail in your preparation."
