The 20 best facts from 122 years of FC Bayern

122 years of FC Bayern means 122 years of great triumphs, emotion and passion. fcbayern.com presents the best facts in the history of the German record champions to mark the club's 122nd anniversary on 27 February:

1. Record champions, Record cup winners, Record double winners

FC Bayern have won 30 championship titles, which makes them German record champions. Since the foundation of the Bundesliga in 1963, Munich have won more than half of the league titles (29 out of 57). Bayern won their first major honour in 1932. The Bavarians have lifted the DFB Cup 20 times, which makes them the most successful team in that competition by far, with their closest pursuers being Werder Bremen on six triumphs. FCB won their 13th domestic double in 2020. No other German team boasts more than one double. Schalke did it in 1937, 1. FC Köln in 1978, Bremen in 2004 and Borussia Dortmund in 2012.

2. The most successful seasons

Bayern set the record for the most points in a Bundesliga campaign in 2013, when they collected 91 under Jupp Heynckes. FCB won the historic treble of Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League that season, the only German team to achieve this feat to date. The treble triumph was repeated and even topped in the 2019/20 season. In February 2021, at the FIFA Club World Cup, FCB secured their sixth trophy within a year - a feat previously only achieved by Barcelona in 2009.
