FC Bayern has confirmed the second ‘Audi Football Summit’ of this year’s Audi Summer Tour in the USA, with the German record champions playing a friendly against Manchester City on 23 July. The reunion with former FCB coach Pep Guardiola will take place at Lambeau Field - the first time that the 81,441-capacity home stadium of NFL team Green Bay Packers will host a football fixture.
Hasan Salihamidzic, FC Bayern board member for sport: “Manchester City is one of the top clubs in the world. We’re very much looking forward to this match in Green Bay - and to a reunion with Pep Guardiola, who we all hold in the highest regard from his time at FC Bayern. It will certainly be an interesting match for the fans in the USA and the whole world.”
After two years during which FC Bayern turned the Audi Summer Tour into a digital experience due to the coronavirus pandemic, the motto is ‘Back on the Road’. This will be the seventh tour in total and the fifth in the USA. Julian Nagelsmann’s team will visit the States from 18 to 24 July, with the first Audi Football Summit in the capital Washington against hosts D.C. United.
