Serge Gnabry opened the scoring in some style in the title-deciding game against Borussia Dortmund on Matchday 31. A quarter of an hour was gone when Leon Goretzka knocked the ball back to the edge of the box from a corner. Gnabry controlled it with his thigh before firing it into the top corner on the volley and starting the title party at the Allianz Arena.
Two thirds of votes for Gnabry
Fans also thanked the 26-year-old by voting for his strike as the FC Bayern Goal of the Month for April. Gnabry received 67% of the votes to comfortably prevail against Robert Lewandowski’s goal against Mainz (13%) and Goretzka’s opener at Freiburg (8%).
New PB for Gnabry
It was also a special goal for our No.7 as Gnabry brought up his 13th Bundesliga goal of the campaign, setting a new personal best for a season. He finished with 14. The forward played an essential part in the title triumph, also playing in all 34 matches of a league campaign for the first time in his career. Lewandowski was the only other player to appear in every game for FCB.
