The tournament, which featured a total of nine inclusion teams from Munich and the surrounding area was opened by Joshua Kimmich with Robert Schraudner, vice president of the Bavarian Football Association, and the Bayern star also presented the medals.
More than 100 children and young people with disabilities aged between ten and 15 took part in the event, which was organised by the "Glaub an dich-Stiftung" (Believe in Yourself Foundation) alongside the Sepp Herberger Foundation, the BFV (Bavarian Football Association) and the German record champions. "You played some great games and you're all winners today," said Kimmich, who was there with his partner Lina. "I was delighted that we were able to spend the day together today. Thank you for being here. Believe in yourselves!"
"We've been actively involved in disabled football for many years," said Tobias Wrzesinski, managing director of the DFB Sepp Herberger Foundation. "With the 'Believe in Yourself Cup', we've added a valuable component to our commitment. Our thanks go in particular to Joshua and Lina as well as FC Bayern for their terrific support."
