Around 7,000 sports enthusiasts took part in the ‘Giro di Monaco’ around Munich’s Aldstadtring on Sunday for a ‘Run for Peace’. The charity run collected donations for projects by social cooperative Bellevue di Monaco eG, which supports refugees in Munich, and for partner projects that benefit, among others, Ukrainian refugees in Poland. FC Bayern is also strongly committed to the good cause - the basketball players were represented by ‘Team REDITUDE’ and mascot Berni on the 5.5-kilometre route.
Club legends Paul Breitner and Philipp Lahm were the patrons of the run, along with Munich’s mayor Dieter Reiter. President Herbert Hainer, Manuel Neuer and Alphonso Davies are also among the many supporters of the Munich social project.
