Nagelsmann's first: 'Heavier than expected'

There it is! FC Bayern were handed the Bundesliga trophy after a 2-2 draw in their last home match of the 2021/22 season against VfB Stuttgart, celebrating their tenth title win in succession on the pitch afterwards with their families and friends and, most of all, with the fans in the Allianz Arena. In the middle of it all: head coach Julian Nagelsmann, who was celebrating his first league title in his young coaching career together with his coaching team. Congratulations, coach!

"I'm happy that I was able to hold the trophy up," said the 34-year-old coach after Sunday night's Bundesliga match, adding a sentence that is typical of the ambition of a coach who still has a lot more to give in his career: "But still, of course, I'd have preferred to also win the game." The league title was already in the bag since the 3-1 win over nearest challengers Borussia Dortmund on Matchday 31. That's why the man from Landsberg would have liked to celebrate the title night with a home win in front of 75,000 spectators at the Allianz Arena. Perhaps it will happen one day. Nevertheless, after the final whistle, players, staff, coaches, families and friends celebrated together on the pitch.

"Heavier than expected"

Massive congrats to the whole coaching staff!

After a gruelling 95 minutes and the presentation of the Meisterschale to captain and ten-time winner Manuel Neuer, it was also the turn of the title-winning coach to hold the trophy aloft high into the Munich evening sky, probably the most coveted silver trophy in Germany. "It was exhausting, it's heavier than expected," Nagelsmann said with a grin after the game.

Congratulations to the coaching staff

Shortly afterwards, his coaching team also had the 'salad bowl' in their hands. For the majority of Nagelsmann's staff, too, it is their first silverware in the German top tier. Congratulations go out to Benjamin Glück, Dino Toppmöller, Xaver Zembrod, Prof. Dr. Holger Broich, Toni Tapalović and the entire team behind the team - because only FCB are German champions!
