Austria and Bayern midfielder Marcel Sabitzer suffered a 2-1 defeat to Denmark on Monday evening on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Nations League. The game at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna kicked off 90 minutes late due to a power outage in parts of the city.

Denmark took the lead after 27 minutes thanks to ex-FCB man Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. Sabitzer was then introduced for the second half by new head coach Ralf Rangnick. Xaver Schlager equalised on 67 minutes, but Austria were beaten on 84 minutes when Jens Sryger Larsen struck again for the Danes. It means Sabitzer and his team slip to second in Group A1. Denmark go top after two wins from two.
Pavard plays 90 minutes in France draw
France were the team Denmark beat on the opening matchday (2-1) and were looking to bounce back in Croatia. Bayern defender Benjamin Pavard played the full 90 minutes in Split. Lucas Hernandez and Kingsley Coman didn't feature. After a goalless first half, the French went ahead through Adrien Rabiot. However, Croatia struck back with seven minutes to go as Andrej Kramaric converted a penalty. Les Bleus continue their Nations League campaign against Austria on Friday.
