The FC Bayern Esports team clocked up seven points from the first two matchdays in Konami's eFootball Championship Pro. The team coached by Matthias Luttenberger, made up of the three Spaniards José Carlos Sánchez, Miguel Mestre and Alex Alguacil, faced Manchester United in the opening group match on Saturday. In the first game, Miguel Mestre earned a point for FCB with a 4-4 draw where he equalised four times. Alex Alguacil then had to settle for a 3-1 defeat. But José Carlos Sánchez was able to win 2-1 in the last of three games. That means Bayern clocked up four points on the first matchday (three for a win, one for a draw).

FCB then had their second matchday – this time against Celtic. Miguel Mestre won the first game 3-2. José Carlos Sánchez (0-1) and Alex Alguacil (1-2) both lost narrowly leaving Bayern with three points in the end.

The FC Bayern Esports team are currently in second place after the first two matchdays with seven points behind Celtic who already have 12 points. Manchester United are third with four points from one matchday ahead of AS Monaco in fourth with three points also from one matchday. Next Sunday, 19 June, sees Bayern play Monaco needing to win to go through to the final rounds. The teams finishing first qualify for the semi-finals and the second-placed teams of each group meet the third-placed teams from the other groups in an additional round. The teams finishing fourth are knocked out. The final rounds will be played on 25 and 26 June.
