The USA up close with Jamal Musiala! We're meeting up with the 19-year-old FC Bayern shooting star every evening in the team hotel. In his diary, the Germany international takes you to Washington DC and Green Bay on the Audi Summer Tour 2022.
Servus, Bayern fans!
And servus Wisconsin! We got to Green Bay today, a small city on Lake Michigan in the north of the USA. We flew over from Washington in the morning – and actually on the plane that all the NBA teams use. That was really cool. I’m a big basketball fan.
We relaxed after touching down. We’ve got individual rooms here. And then after eating we headed off to Lambeau Field. That’s the home of the Green Bay Packers from the NFL and holds over 80,000 people. It’s a really impressive, huge stadium with great history – and the pitch is super.
We did our last training session before tomorrow’s final game of the tour against Manchester City. That’ll be another highlight. We then fly back to Munich straight after the game. I’m not a huge follower of the NFL, but I watch games sometimes when there’s time. I’ll definitely be watching the first NFL game of the regular season at our Allianz Arena in November. 🏈
We players then had a few media appointments after training. I had two interviews. One was digital, the other with Barca legend Hristo Stoichkov. He was really nice and said he played for Chicago Fire, like Basti Schweinsteiger, towards the end of his career and then retired with DC United, our first friendly opponent.
After dinner it was off to the physio. Now I’m really looking forward to the City game. I’ll write to you all again tomorrow about the game. Till then!
Jamal
