It was important today that the players were always alert in a new formation and that we find the best attacking positions and are good in our gegenpressing. We need to improve that counter-pressing because we conceded too many goals last season. That was the most important point today. I was pleased with it in the first half. It was okay in the second. The gaps between the players were too big there to defend well. At the end of the day, it’s always about observing the details from the training sessions in pre-season matches.”

Thomas Müller: “We can essentially say the game was positive. The stadium was cool, with fireworks coming out after every goal. We set up for variety and flexibility in attack. Nobody has a designated section there. So, there’s a lot possible.“
