Three up-and-coming players from the FC Bayern reserves are in the USA! Lucas Copado, David Herold and Jakob Mayer have joined Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Sadio Mané and Co. in the United States on the Audi Summer Tour 2022 until 24 July. The record champions and head coach Julian Nagelsmann are contesting two preseason games, against DC United from the MLS in Washington and reigning English champions Manchester City in Green Bay
"Young players are primarily supplementary and you have to see who has earned their place. David can be used very flexibly and that's an advantage. We're glad they're all here and making a good impression," said Nagelsmann at the press conference before the DC friendly. The three junior FCB players will be present at all the games, training sessions and events. We introduce them to you in more detail.
Striker Lucas Copado
The FC Bayern reserve striker made his Bundesliga debut for Bayern in the 2-1 home defeat against Borussia Mönchengladbach on 7 January 2022 at the Allianz Arena. 18-year-old Copado has been convincing in the fourth division under coach Martín Demichelis in recent months, scoring nine times in 27 appearances last season. The son of ex-pro Francisco Copado has been at FC Bayern since 2016 and was born in Munich, recently picking up two assists and a goal to begin the regional league season in Eichstätt (4-0).
Full back David Herold

The second member of the FCB reserves on the 2022 Audi Summer Tour is David Herold. The 19-year-old full back, who became first-choice in preparation for the current season in the regional league, has trained regularly with the record champions' first team squad in the first week of training. Last season the left back managed one goal and three assists in 13 regional league appearances. The Allgäu native Herold, who has been with FCB since 2016, recently extended his contract and will remain in Munich until 2024.
Goalkeeper Jakob Mayer

Goalkeeper Jakob Mayer, who kept a clean sheet for 90 minutes in the regional league opener for the reserves, is in the goalkeeping squad for the Audi Summer Tour 2022 with Manuel Neuer and Sven Ulreich. After several months of injury, the 20-year-old talent, who has been playing for the record champions since 2013, celebrated his competitive comeback against Eichstätt. Last year, Allgäu born Mayer made six appearances for the FCB reserves.
The three reserve team players will meet familiar faces in Julian Nagelsmann's team, as former Campus players Gabriel Vidović, Paul Wanner, Josip Stanišić, Chris Richards, Joshua Zirkzee and Jamal Musiala are also part of the squad.
