Arrey-Mbi joins Hannover on loan

FC Bayern have loaned German youth international Bright Arrey-Mbi out to Bundesliga 2 club Hannover 96 until the end of the season. The 19-year-old centre-back spent time on loan at 1. FC Köln last season.

Hasan Salihamidžić, FC Bayern board member for sport: “Bright has great potential, which is why we gave him a professional contract until 2025. For his development he now needs games at a higher level than he’s had up to now. Hannover 96 is an ideal station for that. Bright will get the desired experience in Bundesliga 2.”

Arrey-Mbi moved to the FC Bayern U19s from the Chelsea academy in summer 2019. He’s made 34 appearances for the German record champions’ reserve team, scoring two goals. He’s featured once for the first team in the Champions League. Arrey-Mbi, who was born in Kaarst, North Rhine-Westphalia, also possesses British citizenship and represented England at U15 level before switching to Germany from U16. He currently has nine Germany U19 caps.
