After breezing past Viktoria Köln 5-0 during the week, FC Bayern now face a Bavarian derby in the DFB Cup. The draw for the second round took place on Sunday and saw the record winners picked to travel to Augsburg, who had seen off Blau-Weiß Lohne in their first-round tie.
The cup encounter comes a month after Bayern make the same journey in the Bundesliga on Saturday, 17 September. FCB have won 12 of the last 15 competitive encounters, losing just once. The two Bavarian clubs have met four times previously in the cup, with the Munich side progressing each on each occasion – most recently with a 3-1 second-round win in Augsburg back in October 2016.
Second round in October
The fixtures will be played on 16/17 October. The DFB will confirm the exact date and time in the coming days.
