A legend exits in style! Everyone wanted to be there at Claudio Pizarro's testimonial on Saturday: from former international stars like Arjen Robben and Johan Micoud, famous faces from film and TV such as presenter Joko Winterscheidt to active Bundesliga players like Bremen's Niklas Füllkrug and Freiburg's Maxi Eggestein, numerous friends and companions of the Peruvian put on a great feast of footbal at a sold-out Weserstadion in Bremen.
'The best end for my career'
"It couldn't have been better - with the crowd here today, with all my friends on the pitch and on the bench, and with my family. That was the best end for my career," commented Pizarro, who was visibly moved when he walked off the pitch as a player for the last time. "I thank you all!" the 43-year-old declared to the spectators at the end, before he set off on a lap of honour at the Weserstadion to chants of "Pizzaro, Pizarro".
