Unbelievable, but true! FC Bayern broke another Champions League record in their 4-2 victory at Viktoria Plzen, becoming the first team to win 11 successive group matches. It marks the continuation of an outstanding run for the group-stage specialists, who are now unbeaten in their last 32 fixtures at this stage in the competition, winning 29 and drawing three.

Nagelsmann on record track too

What's more, FCB coach Julian Nagelsmann has won his last 12 Champions League group matches (two with RB Leipzig, 10 with FC Bayern) by an aggregate score of 42-10. Only Louis van Gaal has overseen a longer group-stage winning streak (14 in a row between 1999 and 2009, with Barcelona and Bayern).

In a fortnight's time, Bayern will be out to extend their record streak. Victory in Barcelona will ensure the German record champions qualify as group winners for the 12th season on the spin - with one game to spare at that.
