Reaction to the Schalke win
Hasan Salihamidžić: "It was important to end the first half of the season on a high note. It wasn't easy for the lads that are going to the World Cup because no one wants to get injured. They took it seriously right until the end, and put in a good performance. We've done a great job these past few weeks. We weren't scoring enough goals before that."
Julian Nagelsmann: "I hope it continues in this way after the break, then anything's possible. Overall, the last international break did us good because we were able to analyse a few things. A break's also a good opportunity to look under the bonnet at what we can do better in order to become even more dangerous."
Manuel Neuer: "It was important to maintain our focus, keep a cool head and get it done. We attacked and created chances right until the end, without overcomplicating things."
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting: "I'm happy with how it's going, but we'll keep working hard and I'm confident it'll yield success. I'm happy we won today. We created a lot of chances, even if we took a while to get the breakthrough, and then we were effective. We kept at it in the second half and scored. We did a good job of keeping Schalke at bay, too. Of course, it's extra special for me to play here. I have some fond memories."
The reaction from the Schalke camp
Thomas Reis (Schalke coach): "Everyone could see what sort of team we were up against today. They're all going to the World Cup. You can see the quality they have in the squad. We tried to give the best possible account of ourselves. The team gave it everything. Unfortunately, we couldn't make the chances we had count."
Simon Terodde (Schalke striker): "It was an open game in the first half. We didn't give much away, and had one or two chances of our own. It would have been nice if we took the lead, but at the end of the day Bayern deserved to win."
