Even years later, Dante looked back on this special moment in his career with some disbelief: "I put it away with my right foot. With my right! I don’t think I ever scored with my right. I certainly can’t remember doing so," the Brazilian, who was better known as an aerial powerhouse, revealed to the FC Bayern club magazine "51" in February 2021. The defender definitely couldn't have picked a better time for this rare goal - because his opener in the final against Raja Casablanca exactly nine years ago ultimately put the the German record champions on track for their maiden FIFA Club World Cup triumph.

"I partied for a whole week"
"After that, all my emotions exploded inside me. I wanted that trophy so badly," Dante continued - also because this competition has a very special significance in South America: Usually, "the best team from Brazil or Argentina plays against the best team from Europe" in the final - that wasn't the case in 2013, but his compatriots "still went crazy" after Bayern's 2-0 victory, especially as Thiago also scored for FCB at the time, said the former centre-back.
Dante then enjoyed the subsequent winter break after the Marrakesh triumph holidaying at home in Brazil and couldn't stop celebrating: "Everyone had seen the game, the front pages of the newspapers were full of it, I partied for a whole week. I had to constantly retell the story, everyone had so many questions. Like I said, this title is special for us in Brazil. I really enjoyed the time after the final."
